What is Rosin CBD?

There are many hemp & CBD extraction methods, and recently rosin has been getting a lot of hype. Why? Well, we might be biased but we feel it is by far the best extraction method for CBD. It is completely solvent free, maintains a high terpene profile, and keeps the integrity of the cannabinoids. Why do all these things matter? Let’s take a look.

What is Rosin?

Let’s start with the basics. Rosin is a concentrated goo made from the cannabis plant. You might have heard it referenced as shatter, wax, dabs, oil. It contains all the medicinal properties of the plant and leaves behind almost all of the fats and waxes that are generally unwanted because they have such a strong flavor and are in general considered not needed.

How is CBD Rosin made?

This is one of the things that really makes rosin CBD stand out. Unlike pretty much all other extraction methods, rosin is made using no solvents. It is 100% solvent and harsh chemical free. There is another extraction method that claims “solventless” called CO2 extraction. However, as their name describes carbon dioxide is used to extract and it doesn’t maintain the integrity of the medicinal properties like Rosin does. Check out our blog on the comparison between the two HERE.

Rosin is made with a rosin press. We use a pneumatic press from Pure Pressure. These rosin presses use mainly pressure and a bit of heat to squeeze out all of the medicinal properties from the cannabis plant.  You end up with a concentrated goo like above. This goo contains compounds like CBD, CBG, CBCA, and more plus all of the terpenes! As you can see there is a lot more to the hemp plant than just CBD. Want to know more about this process? What can CBD Rosin be used for?

Well first, let’s start with how it can be used. You can take the actual rosin itself and heat and inhale the vapor. It can also be made into a tincture and ingested orally. Both of these methods are great for overall relief, relaxation, and more severe issues. Check our rosin tinctures HERE. >>

Additionally, rosin can also be added to topical salves and creams and is applied to the skin. These can be great for skin problems, acute isolated issues, and swelling of the joints. Check out our rosin CBD salves HERE.>>

Conclusion

Rosin CBD contains more than just CBD. It has the full-spectrum of the compounds of the cannabis plant. It is 100% solvent free and is great to take orally or topically.
