FAQ
Rosin is an extraction method that doesn’t use any solvents to extract. It uses a large amount of pressure and a small amount of heat to extract the medicinal properties from the hemp plant.
A solvent is (from the Latin solvō, “loosen, untie, solve”) is a substance that dissolves a solute, resulting in a solution. This doesn’t sound so bad, right? Well, actually often times solvents like butane are used to extract the cannabis plant and while it is said that they get all the butane out by the time it gets to the consumer there have been reports of people having toxins in their body after using products extracted with harsh solvents. On top of that, oftentimes solvents destroy the medicinal properties which make the product have a much lower efficacy..
So, a solvent less extraction method, like Rosin, doesn’t use any of these harsh chemicals to extract. Plus it maintains the highest level of terpenes and cannabinoids over any other extraction method. This is why we use it for our salves, and also make top of the line tinctures with it. Have you ever heard of or used essential oils? Essential oils are the distillation of certain terpenes or “smells” from the plant. For many years it was believed that that was all terpenes were good for – good smell. However, recent studies have shown that terpenes have incredibly medicinal properties ranging from boost in memory to immune support.
A full spectrum CBD salve is simply a salve that was made using the entirety of the hemp plant. So it contains the full spectrum of the medicinal properties.
Yes. why? A little something called the entourage effect. The entourage effect is the idea that the entire group of medicinal roperties that can be found in the cannabis plant work better together. Society has previously been so fascinated with one compound (CBD) but recent studies have shown that the benefits are ten fold when the array of compounds are together.
